A major new addition to Colombo’s commercial skyline is set to rise at Port City with the announcement of Colombo Gateway Tower One, a landmark office project led by a consortium headed by Singapore-based Canary Wharf Holdings Pte Ltd. The company is the development arm of Platinum Advisors Pte Ltd, the Investment Advisory firm promoting the Colombo Gateway initiative.

The consortium formalised its commitment with a Memorandum of Understanding signed in Colombo between Sharhan Musheen, Chairman of Canary Wharf Holdings Pte Ltd, and Xiong Hongfeng, Managing Director of CHEC Port City Colombo (Pvt) Ltd.

Under the agreement, the consortium will develop a 34-storey mixed-use tower featuring 28 floors of premium Grade-A office space spanning 28,000 sqm, complemented by retail and leisure facilities. The development aims to elevate Colombo’s business ecosystem by introducing modern, smart-office infrastructure designed to appeal to both international and local enterprises.

Situated on Plot 01-01-04 at Port City Colombo, construction of the tower is expected to begin in May 2026 and conclude by June 2029. Once completed, the building will offer uninterrupted ocean views across the Marina and cityscape, along with high-end amenities and contemporary retail options.

The project is positioned to play a pivotal role in meeting the rising demand for Grade-A office space within Port City Colombo. It will also enable registered Authorised Persons (APs) to relocate from temporary facilities outside the Special Economic Zone to a consolidated, state-of-the-art workplace environment. This move is expected to support greater productivity, operational efficiency, and talent retention.

Colombo Gateway Tower One is viewed as a catalyst for shaping Port City Colombo into a premier regional business hub, further strengthening Sri Lanka’s appeal as an emerging destination for global investment.
