The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has formally handed over its proposals for the upcoming National Budget 2026 to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake outlining a comprehensive set of recommendations aimed at fostering economic growth, improving investor confidence, and strengthening fiscal stability.

The Chamber’s submission, prepared in consultation with industry leaders and sectoral experts, highlighted the need for policy consistency, export diversification, tax reforms, and measures to ease the cost of doing business. It also stressed the importance of supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs), enhancing digital transformation, and attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) as key drivers of recovery and sustainable growth.

Chamber officials noted that the proposals reflect private sector priorities and are intended to help the government strike a balance between fiscal consolidation and inclusive development.

President [Name] welcomed the recommendations, assuring that the government will give due consideration to the proposals during the budget preparation process.

The National Budget 2026 is scheduled to be presented in Parliament later this year.
