The French to Explore Sri Lankan Markets in Maritime Economy, Renewable Energies and Mineral Resources

Mouvement Des Entreprises de France (MEDEF ) Business Council will lead a business delegation of 20 French companies to Sri Lanka in the near future.



This development is a sequel to a virtual meeting organized on 21 May 2021 to consider the actions to take forward, that could be led within the framework of MEDEF International Action following a previous high-level webinar on Maritime Economy organised by the Mouvement Des Entreprises de France (MEDEF), and the International Maritime Task Force together with Sri Lanka Embassy in France in March 2021’



 During the meeting Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to France Prof. Kshanika Hirimburegama emphasised the availability of numerous opportunities in the fields of maritime economy, natural gas resources and graphite/graphene in Sri Lanka, and the need for investors from relevant companies in those fields.



Third Secretary of the Sri Lankan Embassy Amila Dissanayake pointed out the untapped market for renewable energies in Sri Lanka, within the framework of a Renewable Energy Resource Development Plan 2021 – 2026, by the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority. Further Third Secretary Dissanayake reiterated the market potential of graphene projects in Sri Lanka.



Director, MEDEF International Mr. Bogdan Gadenne -Feertchak highlighted the French expertise in energy efficiency and transformational process, as well as the French presence in graphene activity (South of France).
