CEAT Kelani Holdings has been recognised as Sri Lanka’s Best Tyre Manufacturer in the Component Manufacturer category at the inaugural Automobile Industry Awards organised by the Automobile Industry Council (AIC) of Sri Lanka.
Presented at a ceremony held at Temple Trees, the award acknowledges CEAT Kelani’s leadership in the country’s growing vehicle assembly sector and its commitment to quality, innovation and industry excellence.
CEAT currently supplies tyres for more than 90% of vehicles assembled in Sri Lanka, providing over 150,000 original equipment (OE) tyres annually for cars, SUVs, motorcycles, buses and commercial vehicles. The company’s tyres are fitted on more than 30 locally assembled vehicle models representing 11 global brands.
The company is also the first tyre manufacturer in Sri Lanka to achieve the internationally recognised IATF 16949:2016 automotive quality certification, reinforcing its ability to meet stringent global OEM standards.
Beyond its contribution to the automotive industry, CEAT Kelani supports the local economy through import substitution and by sourcing all of its natural rubber requirements domestically, benefiting more than 10,000 rubber-growing families.
Sri Lanka’s leading tyre brand sells over 1.2 million tyres annually and exports around 20% of its production to 16 countries. The company has invested more than Rs. 8.5 billion in Sri Lanka over the past decade and recently announced a further Rs. 4.5 billion investment to expand its operations and strengthen its contribution to the national economy.
