Sri Lanka’s vibrant showcase at the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2025 drew strong international attention, highlighting the country’s premium exports from tea and coconut products to gems and jewellery.
Organised by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) in collaboration with the Sri Lankan Embassy in Beijing and the Consulate General in Shanghai, the national participation took place from November 5 to 10 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
A total of 16 Sri Lankan companies exhibited at the event under the Consumer Goods and Food & Agriculture sections. The National Pavilion, coordinated by the EDB together with the Sri Lanka Tea Board (SLTB), National Gem and Jewellery Authority (NGJA), and Coconut Development Authority (CDA), served as a key platform to promote the country’s export strengths.
Among the exhibitors in the food and agriculture segment were Nature’s Wellness (Pvt) Ltd, Lions Management (Pvt) Ltd, Ceylon Tips Branding (Pvt) Ltd, Sinolan Tea (Pvt) Ltd, Consolidated Business Systems Ltd, Rancrisp Marketing (Pvt) Ltd, Hero Nature Products (Pvt) Ltd, and Waguruwela Oil Mills (Pvt) Ltd.
The gem and jewellery sector was represented by Sunshine Gems & Jewellery, Batcha Gems, Dhana Gems, Sanjeewani Handicrafts, Hafisgems (Pvt) Ltd, Abeywardhane Gems (Pvt) Ltd, and Zam Gems (Pvt) Ltd, while Pintanna Oud Oil (Pvt) Ltd showcased products in the consumer goods category.
The Sri Lanka Pavilion attracted wide interest from buyers and visitors for its authentic Ceylon tea, natural food products, and world-renowned gemstones, generating a steady stream of business inquiries and new trade opportunities.
Sri Lanka has been a consistent participant at the CIIE since its inception in 2018. The EDB credited the continued support and coordination of the Consulate General in Shanghai for ensuring the country’s successful representation at the prestigious international trade platform.
The 2025 edition further strengthened Sri Lanka’s presence in the Chinese market, enhancing visibility for its high-quality exports and reinforcing its reputation as a reliable sourcing destination for premium goods.
