The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has strengthened its islandwide presence by opening a new branch in Bandarawela, marking its footprint in all nine provinces of Sri Lanka. The inauguration was led by CSE Chairman Dilshan Wirasekara and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Senior Professor Hareendra Dissabandara, alongside key public and private sector representatives.

The Bandarawela branch will offer a range of services including CDS account opening, access to stockbroker firms, investor education, and personalized investment guidance.

“This branch brings the capital market closer to the people of Uva Province,” said Mr. Wirasekara, highlighting CSE’s role in promoting alternative investment options and supporting SMEs through its Empower Board.

Professor Dissabandara emphasized the SEC’s commitment to investor protection, market transparency, and capital market development.

To celebrate the launch, CSE also hosted an Investor Forum featuring insights on market trends and investment strategies, concluding with a panel discussion moderated by CSE CEO Rajeeva Bandaranaike.
