DCSL to acquire Heineken Lanka Limited

Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka PLC (DCSL) today signed a Sales and Purchase Agreement with Heineken Asia Pacific Pte Ltd for acquisition by DCSL of all shares in HEINEKEN Lanka Limited



DCSL will continue all trademark licence agreements for HEINEKEN's international brand portfolio in Sri Lanka, comprising of Heineken, Tiger and Anchor, DCSL announced in stock market filing.



DCSL PLC's knowledge and expertise in production and distribution of liquor in the Sri Lankan market will be successfully combined with brewing and marketing expertise of HEINEKEN to deliver quality beer brands, with more choice to consumers in Sri Lanka, the announcement signed by DCSL’s Chairman Harry Jayawardena said.



With this acquisition DCSL which has been the leading distiller of arrack in Sri Lanka will expand its range by entering the beer market as well.
