Access Engineering wins Rs 9.3 billion contract for Elliot Place housing project
The Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday decided to award a Rs 9.37 billion contract to Access Engineering PLC for the construction of a 400 unit middle class housing project at Elliot Place, Borella.
The project is implemented by the Urban Development Authority for the housing needs of middle income earners in both public and private sectors.
The project for which bids were originally called in 2017 had not proceeded as planned as the contract was terminated due to some financial issues in the company that was awarded the contract for the designing, construction and financing of the project.
The project which will consist of three types of housing units (850, 1050 and 1250 sq. ft) will fulfill a long felt housing need for urban middle income earners. The project is scheduled to be complete in three years.
